Cruising

Last week I was invited to a dinner with my work colleagues on a cruise in Sydney. We went on the Majestic Two which we boarded from wharf 7. We boarded the cruise at 7.00pm and it was a three hour cruise. A panoramic view of Sydney is seen and awesome photography opportunities of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

For this occasion I chose to go with a simple and easy outfit as it was semi-formal. I wore black work pants with a black blouse and took my black blazer incase I got cold. With this I wore my black strap wedges and a black envelope clutch which you guys would have seen from my previous posts.

As you can tell the outfit was lacking in colour. So as a result I went for a red lip and natural eye make-up. In terms of jewellery I put on a stack of gold rings and a simple gold chain necklace. I was also wearing the nail polish 405 by Flormar which is a beautiful deep red.
The cruise was around Sydney Harbour . It was a beautiful experience. We got the opportunity to watch the 9 o'clock fireworks they have in the city during the summer. It was a great show.

There was an all you can eat buffet on the cruise with a huge variety of food, making very difficult to decide what to eat. After dinner dessert was also served which was also very yummy.

The service was pretty good, well organised and timely. Empty plates were quickly picked up, tables were cleaned and everyone was very friendly.
I thoroughly enjoyed the night and hope you enjoyed the posts :) xxx.

Day in the city

For my birthday, my sister decided to take me around various spots in the city. We started our little exploration by catching a train to Wynyard. From here we reached Angels Place after a very short walk. I had wanted to come here for so long. Its basically a small alleyway full of bird cages hanging from above. Along with the bird cages there are birds chirping in the background.

After a few snaps here we decided to go to Starbucks. I must add that I tried their macarons and was not a fan. My sister and I sat at Starbucks for about an hour and then walked over to Hyde Park. I would recommend anyone in the city to go to Hyde Park because it is such a serene environment form all the hustle and bustle of the city. You can enjoy the sun on the grass or even have a little picnic in the middle of the city.

From here we went to St Mary's Cathedral and then to Botanical Gardens. The botanical garden is a must for plant lovers. There are so many different plants and the scenery from here is amazing. In term of outfit I went with something very simple. Due to the amount of walking we were going to do it was necessary to wear comfortable shoes. So, today I decided to wear my most comfortable flats. Along with this, I wore a floral crop top and nude shorts.  I also took my fringe side bag to complement my outfit.

Lid&Jars

I recently went to Lid&Jars for brunch. Its a cafe right next to the Rhodes train station which makes the travelling very convenient for those who can't drive and the parking is no problem. Its a small, cute cafe with friendly staff and  a very chilled environment. The interior decor is industrial looking but with a modern twist containing brick walls, construction scaffolds and ladders-pretty cool if you ask me :)

The only downside would be the menu. There isn't a variety of food so picky eaters could struggle. However, the food that is provided is yummy and nicely presented. They have brightly coloured plates and drinks come in mason jars which is very trendy.
They specialise in serving quality Coffee Brothers brew. I can't say how well their coffee is as it was a hot day and I didn't get coffee.
My serving consisted of eggs with tomatoes, asparagus, ricotta cheese and mushrooms with pesto sauce. It was delicious! The portion was also quite large.
The price range is appropriate, it isn't very expensive hence very ideal for students like me.

The outfit I wore was pretty casual as it was a casual brunch. I wore a basic denim short with a maroon short-sleeved chiffon blouse. The blouse has black leather collars and a lace detail which start from about where the clavicle is to about just below the shoulders.
